Early on believed another power greater than myself was at work in my life. We grew up 1st attending 7th Day Adventist Church where 1st met the Andersons. Fred Anderson and his wife, Bernadette5, were friends of my parents, &, though never asked, believe now that Bernadette & my mother secretly had each other’s back when it came 2 their husbands. 4 that matter think that the entire planet has been maintained this long by the feminine principle. can always let my guard down when there’s a woman present.

The 1st epileptic seizure recall was when was about 3. loved 2 play outside & felt completely free with no ceiling. Clouds seemed like home 2 me. One day the clouds started violently spinning & just remember being carried by my father in2 the living room where came 2 on the couch. A trip 2 the hospital revealed was epileptic & prone 2 seizures at any time.

My brain6 has always been overactive & the blackouts would occur primarily from overthinking. Basically bred by the normalady (new word alert) of life… always viewed it thru hyper-realities. My schoolteacher couldn’t just b the person who taught the alphabet & math. She had 2 b a willing participant in a mud-wrestling contest between [me] & the other teachers7 at the school. And the contest started once got home after school, in the octagon of my brain. Coming back 2 reality was always very jarring.

The last seizure recall happened walking 2 my grandmother’s house. My sister was up ahead of me, walking with my mother. just remember sitting down on the sidewalk & feeling very small, the 2 of them went farther & farther away. could hear my mother’s voice calling out, “Skipper! Get up! Come over here. Don’t make me come back there & carry U.” Carry me is what she had 2 do, though, cuz this blackout was bad. Apparently there were violent convulsions accompanying it & it scared everyone something awful. can’t imagine my mother’s true feelings about herself back then, but she has the deepest gratitude from me 4 enduring what must have been a nightmare.

She told me that shortly after that episode approached Her & told her that an angel came & told me that ’m not gonna b sick anymore. never had another seizure.8
